Terms and Conditions
Last updated 2026-10-06.
These Terms are the rules for using Ladu. They are short on purpose. The Privacy Policy gives the details about your data. If you create an account, you accept both.
1. About Ladu
Ladu is a vocabulary manager for people who speak more than one language. One person builds and runs it (see the legal notice).
2. Who can use Ladu
- Ladu is not directed at children under 13. Do not create an account if you are under 13.
- If you are under 16, you need the permission of a parent or guardian.
- One person, one account. Give true information when you sign up.
3. Your account
Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else used it.
4. Your content
The words, translations, and notes you add stay yours. You give Ladu the right to store them, show them to you, and use them to build your exercises. We use them for nothing else.
5. Acceptable use
Do not:
- attack, overload, or try to break the service;
- collect data from Ladu with automated tools;
- use another person's account;
- store illegal content, or content that harms other people.
6. What we promise
The Privacy Policy has the full list. In short:
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not run advertising.
- We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics to profile you.
- You can ask us to delete your account at any time. A deleted account can be restored for 30 days.
- A small number of staff can open a support tool to help you. Every action they take is logged.
7. A free service, with no guarantee
Ladu is free today. We provide it "as is". It can change, be unavailable for a time, or stop. We try to keep it running and to tell you about big changes. If we add paid features, we will change these Terms and tell you first.
8. Third-party data and open-source software
Ladu uses word data and software from other projects, under their own licences. The credits page names them.
9. Suspension and deletion
We can suspend or delete an account that breaks these Terms. We will tell you why, unless the law stops us. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us (see the Privacy Policy).
10. Liability
We are fully liable for intent, for gross negligence, for harm to life, body, or health, and wherever the law does not allow a limit. Ladu is free, so for other cases we are liable only for intent and gross negligence. We cannot promise that no data will ever be lost, so keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
11. Changes to these Terms
If we change the Terms in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top of this page and show a notice in the app.
12. Governing law
German law applies. If you use Ladu as a consumer, the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live stay in force.
